Protecting your personal possessions is crucial to a successful move. Hagemaster has professional packing personnel trained and experienced in packing of your fine china and delicate breakables. If you request packing, a team of specially-trained packers will be sent to your home either on the morning of your scheduled loading day or the day before, depending on how much packing needs to be done. All the following should be done before the move. Hagemaster, knowing that the time before your move is busy, can arrange for all items needing to be serviced so that they can be packed and moved safely.

The more prepared you are to move, the faster and easier your move will be. Empty all heavy or breakable items out of dressers, chests, desks, etc. Overloading of these pieces is not safe for the furniture.

Make sure all boxes have closed tops so they can be stacked in the truck.

Generous use of paper in the packing process will protect all your fragile items. No boxes should rattle. Any items with loose parts (e.i. handles, knobs) should be removed before moving so they don’t get lost.

All stereo equipment VCR’s and other electronic equipment should be disconnected and boxed prior to moving. Don’t forget to pack the remote control.

Any irreplaceable, high value, or fragile items should be packed professionally or consider moving them yourself.

All waterbeds should be completely drained, it is recommended that a pump is rented for this process. The mattress should be empty enough for one man to carry, otherwise the mattress could be ruined. Because of insurance restrictions, it is best to have all items from your attic, crawlspace, and rafters sorted and packed before moving day.
